Eh he was a defensive liability. Liked him when he was here but we weren’t winning shit when he couldn’t stay in front of anybody
Wish we kept him instead of Bones Thailand but Wizards wanted Monte
Sad to see him go, but KCP is a huge upgrade.
I liked Monte. Things like this is why I donβt hate Melo. Teams will trade a player np and fans donβt flitch but player demands trade and fans hate em. Itβs business, just enjoy the games they played
Monte’s game winning buzzer beater 3 pointer vs GSW was one of the best moments of last season
Monte was a good player but KCP is a huge upgrade.
It’s a shame. Get you a girl that looks at you the way Morris looked at Jokic that one time
Be sure to tip your servers and bartenders, folks.
Hope they give him a ring this year if we win
Also addition through subtraction. We got KCP. And we lost Barton, who had more than worn out his welcome, and I was a huge Thrill supporter. Do miss Monte though.
Booth has talked about how bad he feels over the situation, and how much he learned from it.
I mean, he probably only liked it because of the end where the person thanked him for being a great team mate
Bruce Brown > Monte morris. Not by a little. By a LOT!
Iβm not going to look too much into it. Iβm sure he liked it more for the championship sentiment rather than the Denver slander. I know the FO didnβt go into the offseason determined to trade him, it just happened unfortunately. Still love Monte and his contributions here
Monte still loves Denver
I was not aware we had made promises to him about not trading him. That’s disheartening.
I love Monte Morris and he was as good a player as could be expected when Jamal went down but I find it strange that now that weβre in the NBA final suddenly βDenver did you dirty.β Based on everything Iβve heard about Connelly and Booth, this seems unlikely.
Did they make some kind of promise to Monte Morris that heβd be a Nugget as long as he wanted and if we got really good, like NBA finals good he would definitely be a piece of that puzzle? Kinda doubt it.
How did we do Monte βdirtyβ?
We have treated players better than any other franchise, often at our own expense
Loved Monte and not happy to see him possibly express some negative feelings.
But in some ways I wonder if the Monte situation illustrates the differences between Tim Connelly and Calvin Booth and shows why Booth might be the guy to get the Nuggets over the top. TC is probably the nicest executive in the NBA if not all of sports, and was loyal almost to a fault. Not that Calvin is cutthroat, but he made the hard decision to get a player that rounded out this roster. KCP is the perfect fifth guy to be in the starting lineup with Jokic, Murray, MPJ and AG. The deal doesn’t get done without Monte being included.
Still miss him as the backup point, but he’d been a starter the entire time Murray was out and deserves the chance remain a starter if that’s what he wants.
Hindsight should have def kept him over Bones, but I’m sure everyone was high on Bones last year. Everyone loved his potential until he became a locker room issue.
He was my personal favorite Nugget on the team. I’ve watched him since college at Iowa St and was super excited the Nuggets drafted him.
Bro the wizards are still a team?
Edit: oh yeah I got got they look nothing like the wizards of the old. That rebrand really was not good.
I think he’s feeling a bit salty rn more than ever and I do feel for him, he could’ve been a part of this. But it had to be done π
I liked him. Thought he was a bucket but he was a little too ball dominant and wasnβt the perfect fit for a championship run.
Cost of winning is upgrading. Thatβs the business.
I liked Monte a lot and he played well for us but go check in the playoffs he played. He didn’t play well and he was huge defensive liability. He could have played a very small role if he was still here similar to Braun but KCP is amazing. We wouldn’t be in the finals without him. It sucks we had to move Monte but it is the cost of a championship
