[Tom Kosensky] Oswald Peraza has 3 HR in his last four games and 5 HR in his last seven games. He has 25 HR and 39 SB in 118 Triple-A games. He does not belong here. #Yankees #RepBX

  1. Ok but he hasn’t looked good in the big leagues either. Granted, it’s a small sample size but still

  2. Not sure what people really want the team to do here. Gleyber is doing alright despite his ups and downs. Peraza struggled when he was up here and if you send Volpe down and bring Peraza up you’re very likely going to get the inverse here. Peraza struggling while Volpe lights AAA on fire and we’re right back to square one. It’s better for Peraza’s development to get regular every day at bats in AAA than it is to play every 3-4 days in the big leagues.

The only other option here is to trade him and there’s nothing available for us to trade him for right now that would unquestionably improve us.

  3. I don’t get why they haven’t tried Peraza in LF or even CF. I get he’s a very good defensive SS but if Volpe is going to be the SS of the future and Gleyber/DJLM are at 2b, why not at least try Peraza in the OF?

  4. This is what’s annoying about the team that’s going to force JD to start when he shouldn’t be. I would honestly send Cabrera down and put Ozzie in left, keep DJ and Jd at 3rd. Rotate DJ between dh/3rd/2nd/1st for whoever is getting that off day. Or just kick Jd to the curb, trade him and offer to eat at least half or more of his remaining contract to get rid of him and let peraza and DJ take over third. But this team is going to force jd into spots he doesn’t deserve if he’s going to struggle out the gate like he has been.

  5. NGL if Peraza won the job out of Spring and was playing as bad as Volpe, every one and their mothers would be screaming to call up Volpe.

Now the Yankees went and back themselves into a corner with all of the stories and “he’s from New Jersey!!!” shit that it feels like they’ll never send him down (ngl I love it, but I wish he could adjust).

A big conversation has to be had if Volpe is no better and even possibly worse by the ASB… We’d have to send him down, right?

  6. DJ can’t hold up to playing every day. Peraza should be manning 3B so DJ goes back to playing about 4 games a week. Peraza may not have the power bat associated with 3B, but that stat line along with a 148 WRC+ at AAA warrants a real shot with actual playing time. Lately I have noticed that some of Volpe’s throws have been weak and he has been saved by Rizzo. Peraza is by far the better defender, if one is going to be moved to Volpe.

  7. Keep it up, Peraza! We’ll see you next year when Donaldson is gone, or earlier if Donaldson gets some kind of season-ending injury.

  8. Guys, relax, this is the NYY.

Someone will get injured next week and Peraza will have a spot.

  9. Why can’t we end the Willie Calhoun experiment and play him at 3rd with DJ at dh?

  10. Send Volpe down and he probably hits like that too, and we’d be screaming to call him up.

  11. Seriously, he should switch places with Volpe. Volpe is a victim of the launch angle garbage he was propably taught through the minors. His uppercut swing just makes for a lot of lazy fly balls. .280 OBP is complete ass for a guy with his speed. He needs to learn to hit line drives, send him down

  12. I bet Cashman likes all the other GMs Romeo-dialing him about Peraza trades.

  13. Send down Oswaldo and bring up Oswald. Oswaldo needs to get his head right and fix some stuff. I’d rather IKF in the OF right now than Oswaldo based on their plate appearances.
Oswald can then move around the infield like DJ or at least be some team depth for the next injury that happens. Also, I’d rather Oswald play OF and be mediocre than have to watch more Bauers plate appearances.
