  1. This article is misleading. Basically saying we got hosed in two different trades, but thatā€™s okay because McClain getting called up.

    Why not call it like you see it and just say the trade sucked in value for the Reds. Poor front office moves getting no value in return once again.

  2. They left out one important detail about Farmer, his $5.5m salary. Dumping his salary is key, to making room for our young guys. At least, thatā€™s what we all hope our non-existent payroll is for.

    People say Farmer is an ā€œaverageā€ shortstop, which is fair, but heā€™s an average shortstop. If youā€™re a team who currently doesnā€™t have an answer at that position and you need to someone to plug in for a season or two, Farmer is great choice. He plays hard, heā€™s as reliable as mule, and will deliver exactly 100% every game.

    For some reason, this is looked down upon. But as the key position of any infield, being better than 50% of the league at said key position is quite an achievement.
