QB Extensions

A lot of talk about QB extensions recently. I’m not interested in Pat’s long term deal because I think Mahomes has been allowed to loiter just outside of the Inner Circle because they trust him and, quite frankly, I believe he wants to eventually graduate into this world after his active football days are gone. Most important is the Hunt family is worth north of $15B (Forbes)so there are more financial opportunities available.
We have the recently done deals of Hurts and Jackson with owners Jeffrey Laurey (worth $4.4B) and Steve Bisciotti (worth $6.4B). My question to the Cap pros is how does Herbert (Spanos family worth $2.4B) and Burrow (Mike Brown worth $925M) get paid without obliterating their rosters?

  1. The owners think about the potential money they could make off of another 5-8 more years of burrow and Herbert compared to having horrible below average qbs

  2. The Spanos family owns a franchise worth $5 B and yet their net worth is $2.4 B.

    Let’s think about that.

  3. Only the guaranteed money has to go into escrow. Salary is paid on a per game basis during the season

  4. It really matters for cash over cap. Mike Brown has probably planned for this. Think they both get huge guarantees.
