  1. Would be pretty funny if this is the thing that makes him retire or go to Texas

  2. The story that won’t end. I truly do not care about any of this from either side

  3. I’ll brace for some downvotes but Some people really need to learn there is a difference in opposing the pride event itself and taking issue with 1 group that is going to take part in it.

  4. He was very respectful if you read the full quotes. Can’t even imagine what Vin or Tommy would have said about it.

  5. absolutely not surprised he feels that way…he’s always been pretty religious

  6. Agreeing with Kershaw on this one. Bad look all around by the Dodgers. Anyways, let’s carry on and play ball

  7. Wonder what the crossover is between people that will defend banning the Sisters of perpetual indulgence because they mock religion but will defend drawing the prophet Muhammad in the name of fee speech

Kersh is my favorite Dodger and I’ll never call for his cancellation but he’s wrong on this one

  8. Yes, but the sisters are nuns in their own right. They don’t exist to mock other nuns. Look at the work they have done. Look at their history. They are nuns for the lgbtq+ community. They have saved lives and comforted many… as a nun is supposed to.

  9. wouldn’t be surprised if the Christian Faith & Family Day turns into a MAGA event

  10. As a gay, Clayton is as good as a white Christian man can be nowadays. After looking more into the situation, I can see that the Sisters ARE a bit controversial and probably could’ve been left out of the event. And also, I don’t believe Kersh has any hate in his heart for anyone.

  11. Whatever who cares. This is pretty tepid and Kersh isn’t really the type to start drama. Let’s move on

  12. It’s a good thing too, otherwise the Catholic Church may have been in serious danger of suddenly NOT being the most recognized Christian institution of the previous two millenia. Not enough people stand up for the little guy these days.

  13. “For us, we felt like the best thing to do in response was, instead of maybe making a statement condemning or anything like that, would be just to instead try to show what we do support, as opposed to maybe what we don’t,” Kershaw said. “And that was Jesus. So to make Christian Faith Day our response is what we felt like was the best decision.”

  14. Overall I think Kersh is a good guy and of course his on-field accomplishments speak for themselves, but he’s on the wrong side here and it’s not even close

  15. If this is gonna lead to all this, stick to rainbows. The dodgers waffling doesnt look good, Kershaw stanning for Jesus doesnt sit with folks that don’t lean that way, who don’t want relgion shoved down their throats, same as folks want us queers to ‘keep it to ourselves.’ Dodgers dropped the entire ball on this. Just stick to rainbows, and your tepid pride stuff. We don’t need the rest.

  16. The sisters have done good work in their community and should be commended for it.

Clayton Kershaw has done good charity work and should be commended for it.

Now people have issues with the Church and issues the LGBT+ community.

Now maybe if Kershaw and the sisters talk maybe they might find they have a common goal of a better world more inclusive world.

  17. Bummed he thinks this way. But it’s not really a surprise. At least he’s not like treinen over here with his nutty brain. Respect everything Kershaw has done with the team, but disappointed here. Still a great person and player to me.

  18. Thanks, Kersh, that story was in danger of maybe dying out there for a minute.

  19. “As a follower of Christ, we’re supposed to love everybody well.” – Kersh

I believe him when he says it. I think the message is lost on some people. Anyways… nobody steal Jobu’s rum.

  20. Look, I love Kershaw—my favorite Dodger of all time—but there’s some hypocrisy here.

We’re going to blast the sisters because part of their organization dresses up as nuns and disrespects a religion, but not allow Christianity to play the pity card? Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t a part of the Christian church disrespect the Church by raping little boys?

  21. The Dodgers never should have cancelled it to start with and we’d never be talking about it. We’d never have to see folks calling the Sisters a hate group and white washing the history of actual dangerous religious intolerance in the country and violence against LGBTQ people. It’s like calling getting a parking ticket a form of police brutality. You’re offended, you’re not injured. Kershaw really has my respect for how he handled this. You vocalize your opposition, you make your position known, and when all else fails you boost your own values and faith by re-starting a faith based night your own. So many right wing loons have been attacking Kershaw for weeks calling him a hypocrite but he’s outclassed them all.

  22. A religion so powerful it can condemn people to eternal damnation

Yet so weak, it cannot tolerate ridicule…

  23. Can’t wait till both these nights are done so we can just please get back to only baseball
