Would be perfectly okay coming in around inning 6-7 to relieve Joe or Sonny.
The FO is still on the record as saying they will continue to prepare Maeda to pitch as a starter.
This does not mean he will come back and replace someone in the rotation. This means he will prepare physically to pitch 5+ innings every 5th game.
Sounds about right for him. If he works back up to 5ish innings he’ll be back in the rotation. Louis might get sent back down, and I mean, that’s okay – not great but probably the most realistic option. If Maeda then stinks up the joint, he’s bullpen/DFA candidate.
What’s a normal max velo for him?
