  1. Sleepy joined the rockets in 1987, actually when they traded Ralph Sampson for him and Joe Barry Carroll

Rockets waived Sleepy Floyd in August 1993 to make room for Mario Elie, who we acquired from Portland for a 2nd round pick. We also drafted Sam Cassell a couple months prior. Floyd joined the Spurs, then New Jersey before retirement. He missed the Rockets title teams so he never won a ring but still owns the record for most points in a playoff quarter (29) and playoff half (39) when he was with golden state. He played 6 seasons total for Houston. 3 decent ones from 1987 to 1990. He was awful for the remaining 3 from 1991 to 1993 when Kenny Smith took over the starting pg spot.

Glad that Elie and Cassell worked out for us though.
