  1. I was curious what he had done to be the instant favourite to take over the Leafs GM role. Now that he has officially been named, I thought some of you would find this list interesting.

  2. One thing I think Dubas did really well is he never made a move or contract that he couldn’t get out of. (And yes, believe it or not, multiple teams would trade for the b2b first team all-star selke nominee winger even at 11 million).

Huberdeau and Kadri are going to be nearly impossible to move.

  3. Beyond the big blow up, the Tyler Toffoli trade looks great – I wish we had gotten that kind of value for a 1st.

  4. Some bad trades moving defensemen.

Traded Dougie Hamilton and the right to Adam Fox for Lindholm and Hanifin. Though he won the traded to originally acquire Hamilton.

    Traded Noah Dobson for Hamonic.

    Won the Toffoli trade.

Traded a 2nd rounder (Jordan Kyrou) for Brian Elliot.

There were some minor assets in addition to those above but just trying to give the highlights/lowlights.

  5. Cant’ be worse than Dubas

He had a young talented core and pissed it away by overpaying them for 1 playoff series win

And his trades were all over the place

Traded Kadri for Kerfoot & Barrie (lost in the first round)

2019 First Round Pick, Sean Durzi, Grundstrom For Jake Muzzin ( good deal on paper but the result was a 1st Round Loss)

Trevor Moore, 2020 3rd Pick – for Campbell & Clifford (Good deal but Lost in the Qualifying Round)

Nick Ritchie & 2nd Round Pick For Ryan Dzingel & llya Lyubushkin (Good deal but again Lost first Round )

Matt Murray and (only) 3rd round pick for future considerations

Mrazek & 2022 First Round Pick (25) for 38th pick ( Good deal)

Kapanen For 2020 First round pick #15 – Rodim Amirov (good deal)

    Mason Marchment for Denis Malgin

These are just some of ones i remember

Dubas was good at making small deals for trading down for picks or small pieces but dam he never could make a big deal or refused to do it

Also where the hell is the Leafs prospects other than Knies, leafs don’t have anyone playing that wasn’t drafted in the first round

  6. Scrolling through this list, the first takeaway is: How is Treliving going to make any trades without draft picks to trade away?
