  4. Prediction accountability here…

    3 games ago I had predicted we’d be 2 GB by end of the Ranger series.. I saw the rotation turning around and figured the lineup would start doing what we know it can do. The lineup getting shutdown by the Pirates isn’t something I expected. My prediction can’t be right now. If we somehow sweep the Rangers, then I’ll be content, but fuck man.

    I will say that 1 run games are heavily luck based and our 1-run game record is *atrocious*. If it was flipped, we’re in first place. I’m going to stop commenting positive things until we’re 5 out again. 5 GB is within striking distance quickly, but 7.5 feels like a daunting gap. I still have faith in this team, but the offense has to get it together. I can’t blame Mo in the slightest when everybody in the world expected this lineup to be great. The rotation has solidified and is fine now, and the offense falls apart. Wtf do you even do there?

  8. Bandwagon recommendations:

    Orioles- fellow baseball birds, nice jerseys. Good team. Fun group.

    Dbacks- Good team. One of the teams that hasn’t been good in a while. Gave us Paul Goldschmidt.

  10. The Cardinals clearly aren’t very good this year. I’m thinking about taking up golf. What does a golf lesson cost around STL?

  12. Tommy Pham just made Jon Stewart very happy in the crowd, with his 2nd homer of the day. So, that’s cool.

  17. Mikolas is a good pitcher but it’s a known fact that he’s vulnerable if you can get to him before 11am.

    Folks, the birds won the PM part of the game; don’t forget that. If they keep doing that, I like their chances of turning things around.

    If someone can get in touch with Jim Hayes, I believe the awarding of a Spirit Win for today’s effort would surely be in order.

  18. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted a manager fired mid season, but I wouldn’t mind it at this point.

    Either the team hates Oli after the October Debacle, or they really love him and everyone is way too comfortable.

    Either way, I think you gotta shake things up at the top.

    Unfortunately, I doubt Mo has the intestinal fortitude to admit he’s done a terrible job at hiring managers, and I doubt BDW2 cares enough to hold him accountable.

    So, the beatings will continue.

  20. Walker now has a 0.9 Launch angle, anything under 10 is a groundball.. the average is 12.1

  21. I really do not give a shit how many games back of the division or WC or whatever this team is. Nothing I’ve seen inspires me to believe they’d do anything but get their asses kicked immediately if they somehow manage to crawl into the postseason.
