  1. I think Jake would have made it there in time.

Thanks for posting. Was waiting for this one.

  2. What was most frustrating was the ump gesturing at Jake with a “what the fuck are you doing?” Like he wasn’t standing in the way.

  3. For those wondering: 2B ump is Ryan Willis. This is Phil Cuzzi’s crew.

  4. Thought it was funny and didn’t really matter much until I saw how close the play would have been otherwise. Probably would have been safe. Still funny in a ridiculous way but what an idiot that umpire is

  5. Welcome to the big leagues, hayseed. Don’t stand on the tracks when the train’s coming through.

  6. I would really like to have seen the entire play from [the first angle shown here](https://i.imgur.com/vZGRLph.jpg) to see Cronenworth’s route and how much if any the umpire moved onto the dirt. None of the replays showed that clearly. It would *seem* like there was a lane, but ultimately this is inconclusive.

  7. In Basketball the official is considered part of the court, so is the Ump in MLB considered part of the field? This is a new one for me

  8. Sometimes an ump does something so boneheaded that you, as a manager, have to get yourself thrown out of the game for it. This was one of those times. I love me some BoMel but he needed to make a scene here.

  9. “Thaught it was gonna be really close, but that’s why it wasn’t” Don says funny shit without even trying. I miss him so much.

  10. is there any chance the ump thought the play was going to first and completely forgot there was a runner coming into second?

In the video the ump is closer to the mound when the ball is picked up but somehow jumps directly Infront of the base runner
