I’ll start with two: Eovaldi has a better FIP than when he lead the league in the stat and got fourth in Cy Young voting that same year. García has the lowest WRC+ of his career in high leverage spots (and the only year he’s been below average). This man is tied for the league lead in RBIs and he hasn’t even been clutch yet- I’m excited for that kind of positive regression. That said, his WRC+ with men on is 178.

  1. It’s an older stat, but being 5-1 with a +24 run differential against 2022 WS teams still makes me happy. Especially when one of those teams is the Astros.

  2. 3 W’s in the 3 games my son and I have attended this year, including opening day. It snapped a streak of 5-6 games losses we’d seen. When they went down 0-4 to the Phillies on opening day, I was thinking, here we go again. Then they reeled off 9 runs to flip it and haven’t looked back.

  3. No only are we tied for second in Starter ERA. We are also tied for 3rd in total IP by starter. Fun fact is we are tied on both stats with the Astros.

    We currently have 11 players with an OPS+ over 100

    We have 9 pitchers with an ERA+ over 100. We have 6 with an ERA+ over 148. Not only is this team good, it’s deep.

    3 players on top 30 batter fWAR. 5 in the top 52. 2 pitchers in the top 30. 4 pitchers in the top 75 pitchers. 2 relievers in the top 45 relievers as well.

  4. How about team stat rankings? The first-place Texas Rangers are:

    * 1st in Hits
    * 1st in Runs
    * 2nd in 2B
    * 5th in HRs
    * 1st in BA
    * 1st in OBP
    * 2nd in SLG

  5. My favorite stat is we have more wins than losses.

    You’d be surprised how hard that is for Texas to pull off.

  6. My favorite stat is that if we only go .500 the rest of the way, they’ll still win 90 games.

    So while Astros are gonna make the division tough, it’d take an epic meltdown to miss the playoffs altogether.

  8. It’s also amazing that we’ve done this with seager and degrom being IL at times and havnt skipped a beat.
