I don’t get why teams don’t openly communicate what they’re doing regarding rain delays. How hard would it be for the braves to say “we see thunderstorms in the area. We are going to re-evaluate where they are at 8pm and will update you again.”

What is this, a “looks like rain” delay?
This is the second embarrassing “rain” delay of the year the Mets have suffered through at an NL east opponent’s stadium.
Bunch of guys standing around without a tarp on the field, without rain, and without any communication of what the plan is.
At 6 there was no projected rain, a half hour ago it showed rain until 9, and now it’s 10 more minutes of light rain and that’s about it for the night. I can’t deal with this southern weather lmao forecasts are everywhere
Mercedes Benz stadium has a roof. It’s the home of the Falcons, who can play in the rain.
Truist Park doesn’t have a roof. It’s the home of the Braves, who cannot play in the rain.
Solid Southern logic.
Now the word is there “might be rain” around the time the game would have been fucking over anyway if they just started on time.
I would never defend the Braves but we cancelled opening day on a sunny 65-70 degree day.
It’s nice to watch these amazing finishes and seeing the Mets have an offense for a change!

This is a random memory, but I recall watching the St. Louis broadcast of a game (against someone other than the Mets), and they[ had a pregame segment](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wPGduTbPQ0) where they were asking all the players if they said “play catch” or “have a catch.”
Basically everyone on the team except Matz said “play catch” and that “have a catch” sounded weird.
Mikolas said he used both, because, “You can have a catch now and then. You don’t want to play catch too much, because you wanna take it seriously.”
“I’ve only ever had a catch,” Matz said, immediately followed by Noot saying “No one’s ever had a catch before.”
Some people said it might be a regional thing with Matz being from LI and all. What do you all say?
