I’m just going to ignore that the last six innings ever happened. Wow, I can’t believe the Cubs won 4-0! It was a weirdly short game though.

Some bad pitching in important spots, and a couple timely errors. That was the ballgame.
Merryweather and especially Fulmer pitched really well.
Wesneski hits Urshela in the 5th inning and everything fell apart after that. Mervis makes an error and a wild pitch just to top it off. What a whiff show by the Cubs hitters too. 10 strikeouts after the 2nd inning against an Angels pitching staff with a 4.77 ERA. When is Mervis getting sent back to Triple AAA? It seems like you’re getting the same production when Hosmer was on the roster and a step down in defense
I’m all for Cubs optimism but if you logically believe this team will still compete I don’t understand why/how you think that
I hate this roster. Not even fun to watch this team anymore. I don’t mind being terrible but we shouldn’t be this bad. Our Pitching is just so hit or miss.
I wish I could say I was shocked to see us give up 5 runs in the 5th.
