I wonder what Pete Crow Armstrong is up to?

Going to r/baseball and seeing everyone say lol Mets is fucking brutal. Fucking $350 million dollar laughing stock right now. Season isn’t over what so over but loses like this fucking sting. Clubhouse gotta feel like a morgue.
Another day of the Mets getting absolutely shit on throughout social media due to the whole “throw it again” thing. I’m so sick of this shit. Now I’m not gonna say that’s really much of shit talk cuz it really isn’t. But Jesus man we should really not say fuckin anything at this point until we start winning games. We are in no place to be “talkin shit” to the Braves of all teams. Social media is having a field day with this already. And now I have to go into work tomorrow and get harassed about it for absolutely no reason.
I hate sports and social media.
I’ve stopped watching the Mets the last few games because it’s clear they’re a very mid team this year. It’s better for my heart and blood pressure to stop watching for now
Mets are incapable of being that team that talks trash, or has silly gimmicks for homeruns or hits. Any time and every time they talk trash or try something it’s thrown back in their face immediately. Just play the game, focus on wha your doing and not what makes them look cool. This team is playing like an embarrassment.
And, not saying it’s exclusively his fault but I’m done with Vogelbach. Pretty much the whole team is not playing up to par but his spot specifically is something that can be addressed now.
I hope the Braves keep saying throw it again, maybe the Mets players will actually do something when their mocked and not stand there emotionless. Go out and win the next 2 games. If they don’t they’re a soft ass team.
If I see Vogelbach the rest of the series I’m gonna come on here and bitch.
Why doesn’t Buck ever pinch hit for Vogelbach but he’s quick to swap out the young guys?
Buck’s managing has been atrocious this season. He’s consistently mistimed when to pull starters, he’s had several games where he’s gone to Leone/Brigham/Hunter when down a run late only to let them get it out of hand, his obsession with starting Vogelbach has become completely inexplicable at this point, and you can argue that he’s cost us multiple games (objectively at least the Marte at CF game in Colorado, but tonight as well arguably based on McNeil’s play) where he’s decided to play guys out of position. I know it’d be a bad look for Steve Cohen to go full scorched earth, but he at least needs to put Buck on the hot seat because what he’s doing right now is not working at all
“Don’t worry, the Phil’s were bad last year for a while”. If I hear that one more time…what a poor and irrelevant excuse. We need to accept how bad this Met team is – good teams don’t get swept and then lose like they did do the team they need to beat.
At some point fingers need to be pointed and right now they should all be pointing at the hitting coach (besides bucks lineups) how the whole team is batting below career averages/ norms and the whole team is struggling at the plate at the same time and for most of the season is all connected through the hitting coach. It’s not one of two guys, it’s literally the whole team. Plus these rookies were crushing AAA and yes they need time to adjust/ get consistent playing time but since getting up here they’ve all fallen off majorly from their AAA numbers… again something has to do with the hitting coach
Turns out I’m not a big fan of losing
“It’s still early!”… until it ain’t. It’s been 61 games. That’s a big enough sample size. This team just sucks, period. I hated the vibe, right from spring training. I hated the fact that players went to the WBC.
Now, if some of you are no doubt gonna downvote me for saying that, think of it this way: Besides Edwin getting hurt, I said back then that playing a tourney like that, where players (understandably) go all out for pride in country right before the season *doesn’t* bode well for the actual daily grind of a 162 game regular season. Why? Because you risk getting burned out. Look at Lindor. He was smoking the ball in the tourney and through the spring. Now, he’s *still* trying to find a consistent groove.
Pete and Squirrel? Sure, Pete’s got 22 HR’s, but his average is way down. So is Jeff’s. VogelBUM sucks. These lineups are laughable jokes. It all comes down to the fact that Billy INEPTler is a schmuck. Until Steve Cohen adds the same level of *competent* top-to-bottom management that he obviously has at his day job, I expect nothing anymore this year. And no, Billy Eppler will *not* be the deciding factor for Ohtani. If he thinks he is, he’s an even bigger fool than I thought.
Times like this Steinbrenner used to send out missives to the media to make a somber statement, fire up the team.
I said last September Cohen needed to do that. Maybe it would have helped, maybe not, but it could have been a Badass move if it did.
I don’t know if this club is good enough for it to help. But a statement tonight could mean something. A “wake up/reminder” to the clubhouse that they’re expected to win.
Then they could win the next two and get going.
What does Jeremy Hefner actually do well as a pitching coach? [How is Drew Smith’s slider getting crushed this badly?](https://twitter.com/nynjharper/status/1666290704614580224?s=46&t=0GVBEYdIBvxpin_xWR9VCA)
Time to break up some of these clicks and start DFAing the low hanging fruit
to be honest, the only players i’m not angry with are Cookie and Narvy. Alonso and Lindor’s home runs were great, but neither one of them has been remotely reliable this year. McNeil has just been fucking miserable in every facet, Baty has been terrible at the plate, we’re still working on Finding Nimmo. Vogelbach should be in Taiwan lugging equipment bags for the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions. Billy and Buck should be imprisoned. not a lot of hopeful stuff going on in the Metropolitans camp at the moment
I know people have said it & this will get buried this late but benching Cahna & Pham after the week they just had AFTER an offday to play fucking McNeil and start ESCOBAR at 2nd base has to be one of the most dumbest fucking decisions i’ve ever seen by an MLB manager. That quite literally cost us the game if you look at those 2 guys defensively tonight & even offensively. That should be a fireable offense & should absolutely put Buck on the hotseat. What a fucking joke we are.
& don’t even get me STARTED on the DH who shall not be named batting FIFTH…fuck.
The thing that I don’t get about Vogelbach is this:
Last year and for the first month and a half of this year he was **legitimately really good** for us.
Last year vs RHP he batted .261/.382/.497/.879 That’s not just good, that’s elite. All star caliber hitting.
Then this year, on May 10 he had a .812 OPS and while I don’t have the exact splits it was a fuckton higher vs RHP, kissing .900 IIRC.
Then, after May 10, he just… forgot how to hit. Since May 11, he has a .385 OPS and that’s going down after his 0/4 performance tonight.
It’s not like Vogelbach was always this bad. He was good for us last year and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. But the last few weeks he’s been Ruf-level bad. And I cannot understand how or why.
i dont know how to stop feeling so fucking angry and sad when i watch this team, this has been i think the most painful season
Any thoughts on the Braves players chirping back?
https://twitter.com/barstoolsports/status/1666278060214087681?s=46&t=bb4xdAoKxkpNsHs9R4SKwQ
4 runs used to be enough for the Mets in 2015
I’m just about ready for Steve to go full Steinbrenner on this team
Don’t worry, still plenty of baseball games left for buck and the squad to throw down the shitter.
Fire Buck. Cut any “clubhouse guy” who is underperforming. Time for this team to stop having fun.
Hire a disciplinarian. No more humping the air. Losing and choking shouldn’t be fun.
Vogelbach is like Buck’s Eric Campbell. Remember how he inexplicably kept showing up in lineups well past the point it was clear he wasn’t a major league player? He was a capable utility/backup guy and I’m not here to disrespect him, but he couldn’t be on the roster because TC would use him too much and at all the wrong times. They have to trade or dfa or kneecap him or he is going to keep getting at bats.
It’s all mental with this team. Team morale is completely broken. We know they are capable of more than this. Maybe if the pitching wasn’t so shitty then we’d be over .500 and it wouldn’t seem so bad. But this team clearly fears the Braves and lets them stomp all over them.
I don’t watch Carrasco games
These guys suck dont be surprised if they miss the playoffs but i know we like holding on and hoping for miracles because thats the only way this poor franchise ever succeeds !
I checked the game thread after they went up 4-1 and thought “they’ll find a way to blow it”. Definitely didn’t disappoint
I’m not a very reactionary guy, and generally think that the professional baseball managers (and other FO people) know more than us, the fans.
But this is the first loss that I look at and clearly see that Buck’s lineup cost us the game. McNeil in left and Escobar at 2nd was painful. Vogey 5th was miserable. If we have our best 2nd baseman locking down the infield and a scarier bat than Vogey (hint: anyone on the bench) protecting Pete, we have a good shot at winning this game.
I use twitter for fantasy mlb and nfl but holy shit I saw some tweets from Braves fans directed at Pete Alonso and I am just as shocked as I am not surprised by them. What a cesspool.
Mets had 0 hits after Alonso said “throw it again”……being a Met fan is actual hell.
I’m hanging up my Vogey defender title. He’s not gonna stop pressing and chasing here. Needs a change of scenery it feels. Regardless can’t keep running him out right now
The next few weeks will put the nail in the coffin for us- Braves, Pirates, Yankees, Houston. Fully expect to be 8-10 games out of the WC after
I really wish there would be some changes. I don’t want to overreact but the status quo is obviously not going to cut it.
