How do you fire a guy who won manager of the year that year. Just reeks of arrogance, and maybe a yes man isn’t the way to go

The hiring of Marmol should be the last nail in the coffin for Mozeliak but it won’t be. Cards won’t win another championship until all the cancers at the top of this organization are gone.
I was always of the mind that I would understand the firing if they hired someone better than him. Instead, they decided to hire the worst manager in MLB
To me personal, I think Mike Shildt is a good manager to this team. When they fired Mathney for the bad half of the 2018 he turn the team around and made them winnable, It suck that they fire him because he wasn’t a kiss ass to Mo and hire an yesman manager and hope the Cards fire Mo for this mess he created
One thing you can’t argue is that Shildt cleaned up the fielding and base running. That alone is worth having in the clubhouse because we’re two years removed from him and the things he cleaned up look like shit again. We need him or someone like him to work their magic even if it’s not from a manager position.
He still had the same rotation that couldn’t throw strikes and forced the cardinals to get Lester and Happ simply because they could throw strikes.
And just so people don’t think I’m a total boot licker he shouldn’t have put Reyes in.
I didn’t agree with the philosophy of the firing.

Mozeliak has hired 3 managers. Two of them suck. One of them he fired after winning MOY. Jobby go bye bye when you do that.
Finally, “Josh Wilson”‘s take
WHO THOUGHT SHILDT WAS BAD?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!? He had 2 full seasons of 162 games, made the playoffs in both of them, made the NLCS, was a 2-time Manager of the Year Finalist, and won one of them. The only people who thought that Shildt was bad, was John Mozeliak who is a narcissist, and the “journalists” who write stupid articles like this for fansided and mlb.com. And then those people worship at the feet of MoZo the Clown, for some unknown reason. Fire Mo, fire Oli, and stop signing pointless, stupid, contracts like Contreras’ and Fowler’s, who can’t hit themselves out of a wet paper sack, but you give them outlandish contracts just because they play for the Cubs. Everyone can hit in Wrigley Field. Tommy Herr could have had 30 home run seasons in Chicago.
Worst thing the Cardinals did was to fire Mike Shildt. Stupid.

Unless you believe Bernie was just making stuff up with his reporting, the Cardinals had no choice but to let Shildt go. Set aside the fact that he refused to follow the organizational philosophy (which is a valid reason in and of itself). Being a complete asshole to your assistant coaches isn’t something that should be tolerated.
