  2. Cronenworth and Odor should’ve been switched in the lineup. Then Odor would’ve been up in the 9th with the game on the line. No reason for ice-cold Cronenworth to be higher in the lineup than Odor. Just another Bob Melvin managing error. You put your better players higher in the lineup so they’re more likely to get more at-bats.

    Cronenworth needs to hit the bench for a week or maybe sent down to figure it out. He’s in Nola territory now. Grisham should also be sent down to figure it out. Dixon is not a major league player. Nola is not a major league player. Cruz should be retired. These five are dead weight on the team and don’t deserve ANY playing time at this point. Would rather have Azocar than any of them. Azocar can actually play. Sullivan should also be up instead of Nola. Just stupid roster decisions and management decisions constantly. Fire Melvin.

  4. My post got removed so I’ll post my brain dump here:

    Right now, they suck. Statistically they are horrendous. But record-wise, not really that bad. Especially in the NL. They are 1 hot streak from being in at least a WC spot. And it’s early as there is almost 100 games still to play.

    Picture these two scenarios:

    We storm out of the gates and play similar to what we think they should be playing (think Rays). We run out and everyone is having a great time, fans and players alike. Then the last 80 games of the season we play .500 baseball. Fans aren’t as hyped as they were in the beginning of the season, players start to slack a little, and we kind of limp into the postseason with no real drive. Those are the types of teams that lose in the first round.

    Or…

    We play .500 baseball for the first 100 games. Fans are pissed, players are frustrated. But then something clicks. They start to play .650 baseball for the last 60 games and player morale and confidence is up, fans are excited. There’s a palpable buzz at every home game. They sneak into the playoffs and confidence is at an all-time high. They sweep the first series – getting stronger. Pitching is lights out in the NLDS and clutch hitting reigns supreme. They are a freight train that can’t be stopped.

    Honestly I would enjoy playing well all year, but if I had to choose…I would rather hold out hope for the second scenario.

  6. Knowing the padres of recent only 2 things can happen w them. They destroy Kirby a young ace and “shock” everyone around the league or offense goes limp again and it’s back to pain/suffering

  7. The only thing the 2023 Padres have done is prove to executives everywhere that payroll literally doesn’t matter, and you can’t buy championships on that alone.

    They will point to us for decades as the cautionary tale and our legacy as a garbage franchise just got another page.

    It really sucks and I honestly feel the worst for Pete. He’s invested billions to end up right where we started. He doesn’t deserve this.

  10. The weather is a perfect representation of the team right now. We’ve had some bright sunny days here and there, but mostly doom and gloom 😞

  12. Sub 4 ERA pitcher and only 1 run yesterday? Easy W today.

    Really hope Rivas gets the start at 1B today. Jake at 2B. Kim SS. Odor/Carp DH.

  13. Kirby has walked six guys all year and the Mariners have one of the best bullpens in baseball.

    There is ZERO reason to be taking first pitch fastballs or hanging sliders today.

  15. What happened to Jake ? Batting under .200 and looking like Grish with all his swing and misses.

  16. Going to a game at petco for the first time in a few weeks. Are there any recommendations on where to park, things to check out in the ball park pregame, food to buy, etc?

  17. Man after the dodgers losing yesterday I was amped up. Need this crap to get fixed
