6/7 lineup

  1. That double Volgy hit the other day bought him like 4 more weeks of striking out.

  2. Buck’s going to play Vientos tomorrow against the best strikeout pitcher in the league Strider and feel vindicated if he struggles. We’re going to be stuck with Vogey because Buck is garbage.

  3. You have got to be kidding me lol. Lineup is a joke. Why is Baty batting 5 with Canha (.800 OPS last 30 days) batting 8 and Alvarez 9? I dont need to comment on Voge. Buck absolutely refuses to change and its maddening.

  4. Buck needs to go. He’s wasted Vientos hot AAA start and continues to run out the worst constructed lineups I’ve seen in years.

  5. i’m not watching any more games with vogelbach i’m not even joking it is so unbelievably frustrating to watch AND WE HAVE VIENTOS JUST ROTTING. idc if it’s petty i just don’t want to see him at all

  6. It is just fucking sad at this point. I feel so sorry for Vientos. He deserves better.

  7. This is inexcusable. Can someone please explain to me why Vientos is even here if he’s just going to rot on the bench? I get not wanting to throw a young player into the fire, but he’s 23 years old and has done all he can in the minors. It’s at the point where you have to see if he’s got it or not. If the reason he isn’t playing is because they don’t think he’s ready yet, then he either needs to be sent down to get at bats or they need to trade him while he has high value if they aren’t believers in him even after he’s been successful in the minors. I don’t care about lefty/righty matchups, the guy needs AB’s and cannot possibly be much worse than Vogelbach.

And people, especially the team, need to stop acting like Vogey is some kind of god against righties. He currently has a .224/.366/.327(!!!!!) slash line against righties this year. Even for his career, his slash line against righties is .237/.364/.446. That is definitely solid for a platoon bat in general, an .810 OPS is above average. But in the context of Vogelbach, the OBP means nothing when he can’t run the bases and instead clogs them up. He’s probably the only player in the league where his walks are a negative to his team, I’d love to see a stat which shows how many runs are created due to a batters walk because it would not shock me if him walking created a net neutral or negative runs for us. And while his slugging is good on paper, it doesn’t nearly make up enough for the fact he can’t run the bases, can’t field a position, and can’t hit for any kind of average. I mean, this is a guy who has a 162 game average of a grand total of 22 homers. For a guy who is as useless as he is everywhere else in the game, that kind of power output is horrendous. Him being on this team, let alone starting in favor of Vientos, is mind boggling and borderline a fireable offense.

  8. I can’t take this fucking bullshit anymore. I seriously can’t. I’ve had it!

  9. At this point, just send Vientos down and let him play everyday, bring back Guillorme so we at least have an actual emergency SS on the team.

Bringing Vientos up to have him ride the bench, be on the short side of a platoon and pinch hit for in the games he does start the second a righty enters the game straight up makes zero fucking sense.

I know a lot of people are tired of the circle jerking over Eppler and whatnot, but you have to admit there have been some absolutely baffling roster decisions made by him during his year and a half here. Not even talking strictly about the acquisitions he’s made, moreso about the ways in which he’s handled the active roster day to day and it doesn’t feel like he’s maximizing the talent we do have.

  10. Why did the team even bother calling Vientos up at this point? If they wanted him to continue developing then he should be playing at least 4-5 days a week, if they wanted to keep his trade value high then he should’ve stayed at AAA. Having him ride the bench isn’t good for him and is gonna make it more difficult to get anything useful for him at the trade deadline

  11. There’s no way. There’s no fucking way. Buck has to be trying to get fired.

  12. Buck is the worst Mets manager of my lifetime, no doubt. literally get anyone else at this point

  13. JFC if you’re not going to start Vientos at DH, why not DH Pham or Alvarez and start Narvaez at C instead?

  14. Vogey must have some insane dirt on Buck and Eppler because there’s no other reason why he’s still starting for this team that makes sense

  15. Buck is lucky that our last two managers were Luis Rojas and Mickey Callaway because there should be a lot more outrage over how awful he’s been, we’ve just had our bar so outrageously low recently.

  16. Another 2 weeks of shit play and I think we’ll see Boss Cohen make a move.

  17. Buck is the best! No wonder he’s won so many World Series rings!
