There have already been “Should we pursue CP” posts here hahah.
Why tf would I want to see this
I mean CP running the bench unit would be dope but it wouldn’t happen.
Satan help this sub when this happens…
the reason they might waive him is so they can use the full mid level without worrying about the hard cap. waiving and stretching the guaranteed portion would shave about 27 million from the cap giving them plenty of space to use the mid level and still fill out the roster without hitting the hard cap.

the mavericks might be able to use the situation to maybe help them shave salary. it would have to be a 3 way trade where they can maybe get capela, the mavericks get ayton, but I would need to see what the hawks would want.
of course this affects the mavericks ability to use the mid level but if they get a center even a flawed one they dramatically improve their size, rebounding, and slight defense.
