  1. Honestly either post pone all games if this is something that’ll go away by start of next week or if possible move to GMSF

  2. They should absolutely postpone games until ~~Aaron Judge is healthy~~ the weather clears up.

  3. The damage to the human lungs in three hours in these conditions are equivalent to David Ortiz receiving one steroid injection.

  4. I just went outside for 15 mins and came back gassed. It literally smells like fire.

  5. After walking a bit outside, I don’t see how they can go ahead with the game

  6. Just postpone the damn game already.. Yanks should’ve built the Stadium with a Retractable Roof.

  7. The stadium looks like a scene out of Mad Max right now, they probably shouldn’t be playing

  8. This honestly wasn’t a bad call by the MLB, which I hope came from a meteorologist they consulted.

The AQI in the Bronx is a whopping ~345 (PM2.5 dominated), which is considered hazardous. It’s not that much better in South Philly (the Phillies game was also postponed), where it’s ~170. In the NYC Metro’s case, it’s strongly advised to postpone all outdoor activities with PM2.5 concentrations at this level.

If you don’t live in the area and are curious just how dense the smoke is, it’s borderline eye-opening from GOES-16: https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/?parms=local-New_Jersey-truecolor-48-0-100-1&checked=counties-usint-map-id&colorbar=undefined
