I would bring them both back. CP3 at vet minimum though.

  1. Bro what… read every other subreddit. Most teams are gonna call on CP3, he’s gonna get way more than vet minimum.

  2. And why not then go get Capela and House and Tucker and….? We are a new team now. CP3 shouldn’t want to come here, and we need to be playing the long game to methodically rebuild into a team that will contend for years. We don’t do that by essentially sleeping with all our exes.

  3. you would bring chris paul and james harden BOTH back to play with Jalen green, Amen thompson, and KPJ???? we just don’t have enough minutes for all of them to play and all of them be happy. makes no sense

  4. if we bring back both of them then all we went through is for nothing lmao, they wanna contend especially cp3, they would stunt their growth

  5. For the vet minimum, CP3 would go play with his buddy, LeBron in LA. Hell, he’ll probably find a way to get more and go there anyway. He ain’t coming here.

Harden, likely, isn’t coming here either. If we offer the max, maybe, but I don’t know if we want to do that as we’d likely need to bring in some guys that he wants which would likely stifle the development of some of the young guys and give us less flexibility in the near term, especially if things don’t work out.

I’d, honestly, look at staying out of the high end of this free agent market. Instead, I’d look at trades for Mike Conley, Kyle Lowry, and/or Gordon Hayward. All have high value contracts that expire after next season which means that you may be able to get something with those contracts. Problem is that both Miami and Utah have solid GMs so fleecing them is unlikely and Charlotte my be tanking anyway so why would they just dump Hayward.

Big thing is to draft well, find some solid depth pieces to fill holes in free agency, and then give the youngsters more time to develop. We aren’t winning the title next year no matter who we get so don’t try to cut corners. Trust the process.
