[Willman] Colorado Rockies Trades That Should Happen

  1. Interesting. I think they might try and move Grichuk and Cron for prospects. Grichuk isn’t as good as current offensive numbers suggest – never has been. Cron’s contract is up after this season. Seems they should move these rentals for some prospects while if/while they can.

  2. Monfort gonna veto any trade within the division. Let alone a local kid and Team USA rep.

  3. The only one of these trades I would be interested in is the trade they suggested for Elias Diaz. Having a prospect like that would be nice

  4. MONFORT FOR A BAG A CHIPS AND A PLAYER TO BE NAMED LATER. That for any new owner.

  5. Who ever wrote this has never watched the Rockies or even looked at the Rox contracts.

Freeland is the last person that the Rockies will trade.

1st the Rockies should trade any of the players with one year contracts or expiring contracts. Moustakas, Cron, Grichuk, Profar, Suter, Lamet to start with.

Pierce Johnston is a free agent but I hope he resigns with his home town team.

Charlie Blackmon has earned to either ride out his contract or request a trade.

Can those get much in return…. no, but maybe they get a lower level lottery pick, which is where a team has to hit through scouting.

Then you look at trading those under contract or control. They should get more in return.

  6. Teams going nowhere. Trade anyone over 25 and keep getting pieces for the future.

  7. Man, 2016 was the year I started watching the Rox (moved to CO from MT). That team was so fun, Story had his incredible rookie start, German got called up and was pitching in the bigs, we had DJ, Chuck, Nado, and a still productive Cargo that year. Jorge de La Rosa was still solid. Fuckin A man, how did we get here.

  8. Who cares? Seriously. As long as Monfort’s Midwesterner Magnet Magical Money Manufacturing Machine is in place there will be zero plan. Dude is stacking paper with no effort to field a team. The only plan for Monfort is to make money. It’s very clear he has no actual passion for the game. Doesn’t enjoy it. Wouldn’t dare show his face anywhere that real baseball fans could pelt him with their beer. As long as there are beautiful sunsets over the front range and Monfort has a pulse, the accidental periods of hope followed by the senseless waste of DJ, Nolan, Trevor and whomever comes next, coupled with high attendance , the mediocrity will continue. When your owner brags that we could have a .500 team this year, that lets you know how invested in a plan or getting the good side of a trade the owner is.
