Nothing more comforting than knowing the fate of my baseball team is in the hands of some chucklefuck politicians in a different state
My kid wore their Oaklandish shirt today (Coliseum and fireworks on it) with no clue as to anything important happening today.
I’m taking it as a good omen.
Even if these Nevada politicians ultimately approve their little bill, that’s not the end of this story by any means. I don’t think it’s necessarily as cut and dry getting MLB approval for this relocation as a lot of people assume. We know that Rob Manfred is a tool, and that he has gone out of his way to help Fisher get what he wants, but the other owners may have other ideas, especially when it comes to giving up their share of the relocation fee. (if that even happens).
There are also other possible stumbling blocks, such as Fed-up Nevada citizens calling for a ballot measure to vote on whether or not to approve the stadium. If they can get a measure on the ballot, it may delay things so much, regardless of the outcome of any vote that it derails the Las Vegas relocation.
