[JoeSmithNHL] The day after Hill got injured, Kyle Peck (Adin Hill’s Dad) says, the Golden Knights offered the pending UFA a contract extension.

Titles 300 character limit cut off the rest of the quote, here’s the rest.

It was a nice offer, a raise from his current $2.175 million average annual value.

“He said, ‘Let’s do this. Let’s wait until the end of the year,’” Peck says. “‘I want to be here, but I don’t want to talk about a contract while we’re playing, while we’re in this push.’”

Peck believes his son will re-sign in Vegas, noting how loyal he is

  1. While I would love to have Hill back, I also want him to get his well-earned payday and I dunno if we could make the space for it.

I hope Adin goes out there, goes 100% on saves for the next two games, and gets that bag wherever it may be.

  2. If this is true, that would mean the VGK braintrust already had their future goaltending tandem decided back in March, even before this run that he’s been on. If they liked him that much then, there’s not a doubt in my mind their No. 1 priority will be to bring him back.

Unfortunately, this is likely the final nail in the coffin for #39 and #90 as Golden Knights. You gotta feel for Brossoit, even if management had already made up their minds, a deep playoff run of his own would’ve perhaps swayed their minds or at least earned him a few extra bucks on the open market. For Lehner, it’s an unceremonious end to a relationship that just seemed to never be able to get off the ground.

  3. A good point I’ve heard about management and ownership is that we do treat our players well with lots or amenities and side stuff throughout the off season. Idk what other teams owners are giving out but it must be nice to have all that from Foley.
