[Shefter] The Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos are two of the teams that are expected to have an interest in signing running back Dalvin Cook once he officially is released, per sources. There likely will be others, but those two have been monitoring Cook for weeks.

Do it Paton!
Let Russ Dalvin Cook?
Given the uncertainty of how healthy (and how effective) Javonte will be if he does return like Payton was saying, I’d like this a lot. Takes the pressure off of him and they can still operate in a tandem, kind of like Cook and Mattison for a couple years.
How much would we realistically have to pay him?
How would we make the money work
GIMME
Would love to have him here, just curious how this would work for us financially
Do it fam!
Meh hes a declining and expensive asset, with Javonte looking so well in OTAs I wouldnt waste this kind of money.
I wonder if we’ve kicked the tires on Elliott, Hunt, and Fournette as well.
Dalvin Cook is 27, MN just doesn’t want the bill for him. It’s all a matter of what kind of contract he’s demanding. It would make a lot of sense at the right price. It would be nice to not rush back Javonte Williams and Samaje Perine is a bit overhyped IMO. Russ needs a lot of support run run run..it’s the same scenario as when we signed Melvin Gordon…which worked till the dropsies came back
I bet Payton spends the cash to have another dual threat RB on a two year deal.
Am I alone in hoping this doesn’t happen? Dude *WAS* a stud, but he’s pretty injury prone and his price tag is gonna suck
Sean Payton’s teams have thrived when they have multiple good RBs to rotate through. For a while they had Pierre Thomas, Deuce McCallister and Reggie Bush. Then it was Thomas, Mark Ingram and Darrel Sprolles. Then is it was Ingram, Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray. So even if Javonte is progressing quickly and can be ready early in the season, I still wouldn’t put it past us to get another solid RB. Maybe that guy is already on the roster, but if not I’d love to get Cook because I think it would be awesome to have a 3-headed monster of Cook, Javonte and Perine
Broncos and Vikings have always had a weird incestuous relationship
Would be stoked if we signed him but I’d have to think that means we take it slow with Javonte and I was getting really excited to see him back
Our run game would be absolutely insane holy shit
Please do not pay 7 mill a year for a declining rb
It looks good for Denver. Payton wants him in the Kamara role.
Really don’t know if it’s wise to give a big pay day to a back on the second leg of his career.
He has 19 fumbles in 6 years. I’ll pass. One Melvin Gordon was plenty.
