1. I kind of get it. If the asking price is as high as rumoured, I can see why we would pass. Goalies are weird, and you can never really predict how they will perform in any given year. I get not wanting to give up the farm for a guy who has struggled recently, and has no guarantee of bouncing back. You also never know when one of your own goalies will suddenly break out, and we have some time to see if that will happen for us.

2. Kent Hughes also mentioned they intend to draft a goalie this year (money is on either Hrabal, Bjarnason or Augustine)

   Unknowledgeable fans want Habs to trade for Hart don’t realise he is nothing more than a glorified bum because he was once a top prospect in goal who has not panned out. Like Puljujarvi.

   Knowledgeable hockey minds who works in front office and who can read numbers and contexts knows and understand that Montembeault is a better goaltender and that there is no justification to spend any asset for Hart when you have Monty in your organisation.

4. I really wonder if there’s anything to the fact that he’s part of that 2018 team, and since the report is supposed to be made public in a few weeks, maybe they wouldn’t want to risk it?

   Not saying they know, or that he’s even involved, but the clear refusal felt weird.
