DiComo seemingly confirms Mayer – Pete Alonso is likely to be placed on the IL before the Mets open their series tonight in Pittsburgh, per source. The team is still awaiting more test information, but an IL placement seems probable.

  1. A poorly communicated / misdiagnosed injury leading to a longer than expected absence that is announced nearly simultaneously with a crippling loss / losing streak… we are so back

  2. Goodbye season. We will probably finish the 4th or fight Miami for 3rd place in the division.

  3. Gotta start throwing back. I don’t care if it was an accident. This has happened far too many times over the years with nothing done.

  4. Alright, that’s it for me. Can’t watch anymore. Was secretly banking on Pete breaking records this year. Oh well… 🤷‍♂️

  5. Did people not expect him to end up on the IL when he went back to NY for an MRI. Let’s just hope it is a bone bruise and not something that is going to end w him getting surgery
