  1. Im pretty sure like 65% of this subreddit is just casual NBA fans who will tune out the Nets if they don’t have a star player they recognize. So they’re always pushing for big name trades

  2. So Nets fans don’t want Dame because it wouldn’t make us contenders but they don’t want to trade Mikal to stockpile assets and younger talent.

What’s the plan then? Be a play-in team every year. We likely won’t have any lottery picks until like 2027. And it’s not like any other stars are available. Idc if we get Dame or not, the team just needs a direction.

  3. There’s almost no team that’s won without stars. Idk why ya acting like dame is washed. Literally is coming off one of his best seasons. He was going insane before he sat out. Yall just have ptsd

  4. This sub doesn’t want us to trade for a star, doesn’t wants us to trade Mikal and doesn’t want us to roll the dice on the same roster.

So wth does it want us to do?!!

  5. I have been one that was firmly against trading for Dame. He was too old, too expensive and would kill our assets.

However, this latest angle of Harris/Dinwiddie and picks doesn’t destroy our core of Mikal, Clax and CJ. Taking an optimistic view, we would be adding an allstar combo of Dame and a healthy Ben to that core. That lineup could make some noise NOW.

I still think the safer, longer window method would be Mikal to Portland for the 3 and Simons+. It gives us a lottery talent today (for those worried about picks), a much longer window based on youth while maintaining our war chest of picks to make other deals.

If it is Harris/Din, I go for Dame and try to win now.

  6. Steve Nash was 30 when he went to Phoenix and he completely transformed them.

  7. I just want to be a fun playoff team with a star who can go off for 50+ any night. I don’t need us to be a contender
