  1. This means a 40M move is coming. Maybe Bleier to 60 day IL? Unlikely to be a Kluber DFA because the Sox would then have to call up another pitcher.

  2. Not gonna lie, a lot of these callups nowadays I look at and go “who???”. And “when did we get this guy”? Lol. And while I’m not an expert, I feel pretty knowledgeable about this team yet have no idea who most of these guys are now

  3. For everybody saying “who?” you can impress your friends by pre-knowing that this guy pronounces his last name as “Jakes.”

    Having said that, these last few days–Murphy up and down in 12 hours, Dermody selected and DFA’d immediately after the game, Jacques added to the 40-man out of nowhere–feel more like September moves than June moves. But I’m fine watching new guys. The offense has been DOA and it’s not like the pitching staff has been great. Sure, I’ll watch the WooSox wear Red Sox uniforms.

    If Duvall is indeed getting called up for tonight, they need another spot on the 40-man. Guessing a Reyes DFA? Optioning Valdez gets you an active roster spot but not a 40-man spot, so it can’t just be that.

  10. They need to somehow call up Big Papi, Papelbon, Pedro, Koji and Jon Lester…. This team is eye scratching to watch, at times.
