Expectations for Colton Dowell?

So I was speaking with a reporter who was at mini-camp and the first thing he said to me was ”they are using Dowell with 1st team way more than people would think”. His ability to understand complex concepts has put him way ahead of the curve. He, and Levis, are already operational in the offense. He’s also an effort player who blocks well. I think he makes an impact this year in some way possibly even emerges as WR3 if Hopkins falls through.

What’re your expectations?

  1. If all he does is run super fast in a straight line and we target him 1-2 times per game and he occasionally catches one, I’d be happy. We need a deep threat to open things up.

  2. Honestly, if we don’t get Hopkins I wouldn’t be surprised if he was WR2 by the end of the season. Also wouldn’t be surprised if he was riding pine. Behind Burks, NWI is solid but he’s not super consistent. Phillips showed potential, but who knows there. I think Burks and Chig dominate the targets but outside of them it’s wide open.

  3. I mean if it doesn’t work out he’s got the perfect name to go into bro country

  4. He’s a beast, athletic af, seems like he has a good head on his shoulders, and is a loyal teammate based on his UTM days.

I think he could be one of the steals of the draft
