  3. In a new move to reduce game time even further, Carlos Estevez has declared that all Angels games end in the 8th once they have a lead

  6. I don’t know about you guys, but 5 game winning streaks feel a hell of lot better than 14 game losing streaks

  7. I love Carlos Estevez for being rock solid, but I almost love him as much for saluting the bullpen after his inevitable save. I really like the Angels’s HR salute to the bullpen, I think it’s really cool. It’s super fun to see live as well. The bullpen guys really seem like they live for it lol

  8. Way to grind out a win against Castillo. Hopefully Joyce is alright. He was still throwing hard so maybe it’s just a blister or something. Need Sandoval to shove tomorrow and keep it rolling.

  9. Amazing team win. Ohtani doesn’t have his best stuff lately and only goes 5 innings, but still contributes with his bat along with the rest of the lineup. Angels still 5 games above .500 with Ohtani not being his awesome self on the mound, and with Trout slumping a bit this season.

Bullpen has been good this year, offense is more spread out and not just reliant on 2 guys. The Angels are better this year and they haven’t even hit their ceiling yet. Hoping the All Star break gives Ohtani the rest he needs and to figure out his pitching game. Plus the Angels have some decisions to make with the outfield being crowded with potent hitters, and Walsh struggling, which could provide more offense (hopefully without sacrificing fielding).

Hitters have clearly studied the sweeper more this season since it’s such a more popular pitch and it’s not as lethal this season (esp to left hand hitters), but that curveball looks like a weapon he can use more going into the second half of the season. He’s probably more exhausted too because his pitch load has gone up along with the introduction pitch clock. One thing I really noticed is that compared to the last seasons, in full count situations, Ohtani would usually strike the opposing batter out after letting the moment build and resting, but he can’t do it this year with the pitch clock and he walks them more often than not.

    ANYWAYS, LTBU

  10. Ohtani the hitter helps out Shohei the pitcher. Third time he’s so close to hitting the cycle as a pitcher. It feels like he’s going to do it this season.
