Steve Yeager Weighs In

  1. I thought this was a pretty informative thread. He did seem a little defensive there at the end….

    I’m hoping the democrats aren’t eager to give Lombardo a victory and oppose.

  2. In summary;

    We’re going to pass this no matter what, we just wish we had more time to vet it. Californians are annoying. Stop threatening me with votes. The vast majority of my constituents have not voiced their opinion.

  3. So it’s a complete tossup at this point, but legislators are not at all thrilled to be in this special session. Anyone confident about it going one way or the other is talking out of their ass. And I’ll take 50/50 odds over what it was looking like a week or 2 ago

  4. Yeah, I don’t exactly know how to read this. It’s clear they want to pass this, but Fisher and Lombardo are making it difficult for them. The last message reads like he wants to pass it out of spite.

    Who knows man.

  5. Like many politicians, they tend to ask questions that leaves the impression they’ll vote no on a bill, but vote yes anyway. No vote this weekend, but no doubt there’s backroom deals and phone call being made right now to push the bill through. Campaign contribution$$$ perhaps??

  6. He’s worried about the optics, he’s saying they were blindsided and he resents the criticism and he’s really just trying to decide who he’s annoyed with more and who he wants to spite, the A’s fans or the governor.

    It sounds like he thinks the matter got rammed through not because of Fisher but because there’s public outcry from outside Vegas, and we’re making him do extra civil service that keeps him from his family.

    He sounds great. Why have only four constituents weighed in anyway? What does that say about him?
