  1. There’s always been a rumor that Beasley wasn’t passionate about football.

But wanting to stay stuck in an elevator so you can C&C (chill and collect) is equally sad and hilarious.

Beasley + Takk is such an indictment on Dimitroff. How do you not figure this shit out during the draft process?

Two options. Either our vetting process was fucking awful, or Dimitroff was convinced he’d “fix” these guys. Don’t know which is worse.

  2. The fact that Dimitroff admitted that he knew Vic wasn’t all in with football is embarrassing. He was due to leave and they paid this man 11Ms for 1 year, practically begged him to come back. If there was a way to sue bro I swear lol

  3. I’m reading lot of, to paraphrase, “Dimitroff is incompetent for picking this guy,” and that’s just a shallow, bad take.

It’s a bad selection. There can be no doubting that, I am in no way trying to argue against that. However, context is important.

Going into the 2015 draft, the Falcons were improving but were (stop me off you’ve heard this before) desperately lacking at pass rush. The 2015 draft was AWFUL if you needed a pass rusher. Seriously, the Def linemen chosen immediately after Beasley were: Danny Shelton (DT), Arik Armstead (DE), Shane Ray (DE), Malcolm Brown (DT), Mario Edwards (DE), Preston Smith (DE), Eddie Goldman (DT), Nate Orchard (DE), Jordan Phillips (DT), Markus Golden (DE)… We FINALLY get to a name you might realistically think of as a good player at pick 63, Frank Clark.

You may know some of those names above after Beasley, but none of them even made a Pro Bowl except Beasley and Clark. You can argue Dimitroff should’ve picked a different position, and that’s valid, but the organization as a whole wanted pass rush, and realized their best bet was to try for it early. And in his first year, Beasley DID pay off… and then the rest of his career happened.

Point being, a 60% drafting hit rate would make an NFL GM a legit LEGEND. It’s Fn difficult. In retrospect, choosing Beasley looks far worse than it did in the moment the selection was made.

  4. I just think its funny seeing these comments. criticizing TD for going for Beasley despite red flags, yet so many of you wanted jalen carter despite the red flags.
