Burger> Moncada and it’s not close.

Let’s play a quick game. Which one of these pictures is Yoan Moncada, former top prospect who the white Sox traded perennial CY young contender Chris sale for, who according to white Sox fans is the number one defensive third I baseman in baseball, and who could be a perennial MVP candidate according to some fans. And which one is Adam Eaton in his age 32 season. Moncada has a 77 OPS+ and is not nearly as good a defender as this fanbase believes. The fact burgers ABs are not be prioritized over Moncadas at this point is organizational malpractice.

  1. Especially with moncadas back it’s hard to not just put burger in. You definitely lose something defensively but until it’s an issue might be best to get burger more ABs and get moncada some rest

  2. You can’t hold the fact that he was traded for Chris Sale against Moncada. Getting rid of sale was the correct move, we weren’t going to be competitive any time soon, his trade value was insane and we got prospects in return. That’s baseball.

  3. It’s not either/or. I’ll take Jake Burger and a 100% healthy Moncada both in the lineup any day, with Moncada playing 3rd and Burger DH.

If Moncada isn’t 100%, then he shouldn’t be playing. We’ve seen over the past few years that he doesn’t produce when he isn’t right.

  4. It’s reached that point 100%. Once this core is gone I think we’ll find out Moncada played hurt a lot of the time.

  6. Moncada is the most disappointing player in White Sox history. Due to make $25 million next year. Which would be the highest salary in a single season in white sox history.

  7. The amount of insufferable fans that will hold anything and everything they can over Moncada is just mind blowing. Management offered him the contract. Management made the trade for him. Injuries have absolutely derailed his potential. But he’s not the boogeyman here and y’all need to grow up.
