  1. I mean, it is unprecedented and arbitrary without a clear explanation so far of the methodology

It’d be kinda funny if they reduced it by 8 games so theoretically Ja could still be eligible for All NBA if he played all 65 games for which he’d be available, if his level of play merits it

  2. There is absolutely no precedence for the number. No one can argue that. But it is what it is and 25 days (edit: meant games) is something we can move forward from.

  3. I think it’s crazy he got 25 for being a dumbass on social media and people acting like it’s a light suspension when Miles Bridges got 30 for beating his girlfriend which was actually worthy of being a full season suspension.

I was in favor of JJ Redicks proposal of doubling the original 8 game suspension to 16, but people are losing their minds he only got 25 so maybe it’s better this way.

  4. And all these media bums and r/nba chads said the PA wouldn’t stick up for him

  5. Probably nothing will happen, but I’d think 16-20 is a fair compromise.

  6. Probably not the popular opinion but I don’t think there’s any reason to reopen this. Serve the 25 games and comeback.

The team accepted the decision, Ja already accepted the decision, there is no reason to open this back up and potentially make things worse.

  7. NBPA is about to get rolled and lose all public backing if they are not smart about this. The smart part is to clarify the conditional return and make it tangible actions. Also, maybe get a 5 game reduction. If they fight for more, then they will look like they back repeat offenders and people who can’t keep their promises for more than 1 month.
The public wants the league to go hard against Ja because the 2 incidents he is getting suspended for are only some of the multiple incidents he was investigated.

  8. Now the fun begins, because all of the assholes that felt as if the 25 games wasn’t enough are going to go into total meltdown when Ja win his appeal. He broke no laws and he broke no NBA rules.

  9. The NBA really shot themselves in the foot with the 8 game suspension. As a grizz fan, I would not have been surprised or upset if he received 25 games for the first incident.

Now that silver/the NBA has set the precedent at 8 games for this type of incident, I think 25 games is far too much.

If Ja were to appeal the suspension, I could see the suspension dropping to as low as 12 games.

  10. Let the NBPA fight it out. Team and Ja should keep their heads down and just move on.

  11. This is good, they should fight this outrageous suspension. I have never seen in my life a suspension for a player that did not break a single personal code of conduct, league rule, state or federal law.

Then the league had the audacity to justify it because they believed it would’ve set a bad role model, who asked Ja to be a role model for some random kid out there? That’s not his responsibility, so why are we justifying the suspension over that?? I argued way back in April that he shouldn’t be suspended, he’s an imperfect, idiotic victim, but he’s still a victim of a league overstepping its boundaries
