[Marc Spears on NBA Today] “The Warriors expect Draymond Green to opt-out of the final year of his $26M contract, I’m being told, but… the Warriors are gonna do everything in their power… to bring him back. Golden State is also getting calls on Kuminga, getting calls on Jordan Poole.”

Nothing surprising here I think. He said he wants to be a warrior for life, he wants to get a new deal
Rather opt out and get a long term contract which is beneficial to us and him, than opt in for one more year imo. Plus he has said multiple times he doesn’t want to go anywhere else
Dunkirk gonna cook up something special
Let’s just hope Draymond opts out and takes a very long, team-friendly contract so we don’t have to get rid of too many of the young, talented guys.
But whatever it takes to win Steph another championship I’m 100% on board.
Core 3 is old. Dray and Klay aren’t worth the max lol
I’m thinking about $70M over 3 years would be a good deal, and coincides with the end of Curry’s contract. Three more shots at a chip before they ride off into the sunset.
Hopefully Dray re-signs for 3yrs/$75M or less
Dray wants to stay here and the team and org wants him here as well. I think the FO and him will do their best to work on a contract that helps the team but is also fair to Dray.
Extend him for 4 years and back load the fuck out of it
They getting calls on Poole from Charlotte and Houston lmfao
This sounds like (without of course including this bit because it’s not as juicy sounding) Dray’s going to opt out so they can resign him to a multi-year deal now vs. next year. That’s been hinted, if not outright reported, as the intended plan for awhile now.
Should be “do anything in their power within reason”. If this dude is tryna get a max level contract, then hard no.
Bye pole
Opts in gets a new long-term deal, and can start low so teambuilding becomes much easier for the next year or so. Also, receiving instead of making calls for young pieces is huge.
Team should have lots of options to retool next year, super excited baby
Realistically, what does a package of poole, Kuminga and 19 get us? Is siakam attainable? If he is that would be a massive dub
I’ve always thought he stays. I remember a few years ago when he signed his contract extension him referring to this team as his baby or something like that, I think Klay Steph and Dray all feel the same way about it. Of course out of all of them I think Dray would be the most likely to ever leave but I still don’t see it happening. I guess never say never for any of them.
