  1. For those who don’t have a subscription:

    1. Find some five-on-five consistency

    2. Connect with Alexis Lafrenière

    3. Give the “kids” a longer leash

    4. Unlock playoff Panarin

    5. Tinker with the top four D

  2. He’s a veteran coach who’s expected to take this team to the playoffs and win. As much as I hate the retread coaches, there was no way the front office was going to allow a rookie coach get his footing and have bumps along the way. The window to win is now. Hopefully Laviolette is the guy to take these guys to the promise land. I don’t love the signing but I’ll wait and see how the team responds to his structure.

  3. Not making excuses for him, but I was thinking today: how much was Lafreniere’s inability to switch wings due to GG not having enough of a system?

  4. The good thing about this hiring is that some of the players will likely waive their NTC. Perhaps that was the strategy.

  5. 1) promote selfish fucking hockey/shoot the fucking puck

    2) make the power play less predictable

    3) any sort of defense

    4) get the boys up every game

    5) use analytics in a meaningful capacity/let Laf cook
