[Weinbach] Kyle Kuzma is expected to decline his $13.0M player option with the Wizards and become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Potential suitors for Kuzma could include the Pacers, Rockets, Spurs, Kings, and Jazz. A reunion with the Lakers is also a looming possibility.

  1. No please. He’s gotten better but I could definitely see him underperforming here since he’s the type that’s needs a large volume of shots to succeed

On the Wizards he could chuck all day long with Beal and Porzingis out but on the Lakers he’d be in a reduced role. Just lock in Rui

  2. I honestly think he can get more money and a better role elsewhere. We’d be trying to push kuz back into his role box and we know how that could go. The idea of another wing would be nice, but I just don’t see it happening

  3. Just another player using Lakers as leverage. He don’t make no sense with Rui and Vando. And we can’t afford him whatsoever.

  4. At most we’d offer the MLE which is probably half what he can get elsewhere.

I suppose we could sign and trade too if getting hard capped is in our plans. I’d rather get hard capped for Kuz than FVV but man things start getting pretty complicated if we sign and trade Russell for Kuzma and say CP3 isn’t bought out. We’d have just the MLE to find a starting caliber pg.

Very unlikely he ends up here.

  5. This sub needs to fully understand Lakers don’t have cap space for anything other than small moves.

  6. I was a huge Kuzma supporter when he was here, but he was never an efficient scorer, he was great because he was playing for cheap.

This is about the same with Dlo, I’m a massive critic of him as a 30 millions player, if we can sign him for 12 millions I’m going to become a relentless supporter.

  7. Every player. EVERY player will be linked to the Lakers in some way for headlines.

  8. Dammit I just moved to DC and was looking forward to seeing him play. Figures lol.

  9. I want to bring Kuz back simply because he’s a huge Lakers fan. I think he’ll have great chemistry with the team.

  10. I dont expect him to come back to us. He said when he left he was ready to play outside of LeBron’s shadow. I mean things can change but you never know.

  11. I’d rather have Porzingis tbh. Fits better with what we need. Would pair extremely well next to LeBron and AD as a stretch 5

  12. Would have to be a sign and trade which triggers the hard cap. Don’t think it’d be worth that loss in flexibility.

  13. The worst thing about being a Laker is that every news report includes the Lakers as a suitor. NBA players don’t reject major money anymore. It’s time we realize this. For 2-3 years lakers have built supporting roles for vet mins for players that were bouncing around. Jeanine proved this point with Caruso.

  14. Pretty Rui is not going to re-sign if we sign Kuzma. That would put him in the exact same place he wanted out.

  15. No. It’s not a “looming possibility”. Why do they have to attach Lakers in every fucking rumor they’re spreading?

  16. Toss in the Lakers to boost the pay day another 2-5mil. We can’t pay him, we won’t get him. The Lakers are attached go every gd move ever.

  17. Kuz left and became a CERTIFIED Panera Unlimited Sip Club member

It’s not every day that we can re-sign somebody that’s elevated their status so greatly

  18. He was my favorite when he was with us. It’s not smart for us to pursue him unless he takes a heavy cut which would be dumb for him
