[Dhaliwal] If UFA defenseman Carson Soucy hits the free agent market, that is a player I believe the Canucks like.

  1. Definitely the type of player we need. Wonder what the asking price is from his camp

  2. i’d be all over that if i was Allvin just depends how much he wants

  3. Rodriguez (3rd line C), Mayfield & Soucy (L + RHD), that’s my dream free agency. Obviously, Orlov would be great, but I wouldn’t want to sign him for more than like 3-4 years, and why would he do that? Why would he even come here in the first place?

P.S – And I shouldn’t have to mention this, but just to be safe. *No* Lucic.

  4. It seems like everytime Vancouver plays Seattle someone ends up fighting Soucy so why not add him to the team lol

  5. I get it’s frowned upon to choose size and grit over skill but this team needs a complete rehaul of the defense with complete ogres and meat and potato 6’4 mutants who lock things down and beat your ass

Trade for Carlo or Pesce, sign Soucy, bring Schenn back. Get some DUDES in this d-corps

  6. I loved his game in the Minny bubble series.

I’d love to add him, but want no part of him if we are just signing on to replace the soon to expire Myers contract with a new Myers type of mistake contract.

Every year there is a new guy that upped his game as he’s about to become a UFA, that every team likes.

I’d love for us to find that guy a year early by betting on our pro scouting department that seems to really know what they’re doing.

Trade for a guy like that and re-sign him early.

Or, even trade for someone else’s cap dump that can still play. Have them pick up a portion of the contract and give us some type of asset.

I really like Soucy but there are so few d-men available as UFA’s, he’s going to get overpaid. The nice part about Soucy’s game was he provided a lot for the amount of money he was paid.

To sign him for too much money takes away much of what makes him a positive asset for a team.
