[Bell] Triston McKenzie was examined this morning. He was diagnosed with a sprain of the ulnar collateral ligament. He’s being shut down from throwing for at least several weeks. McKenzie guessed it’d probably be 4-6 weeks. They’ll continue to evaluate him regularly.

  1. Degrom had a sprain in 2021 and is now having Tommy John. Just because McKenzie rests doesn’t mean issues won’t flair up down the road. May as well rip off the band aid and get Tommy John. I think McKenzie is a good pitcher, but he’s not durable enough to sign long term

  2. That’s not good news. Pretty much out for the season at best. Really hope he doesn’t end up needing TJ, we’ve been really lucky avoiding that with our pitchers.

It seems like we have had way more pitchers injured this year. Really testing the depth.

  3. Am I the only one that thinks our pitchers are left in too long-especially after returning from a previous injury??
