There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.
Guys, I think we might just suck at edge this year. Yes, it’s an important position. Nobody disputes that. But the way free agency and the draft played out, edge wasn’t in the cards. We know the MO of this organization: it won’t overpay in either free agency dollars or draft capital.
So we weren’t gonna fix everything all at once…and edge was the position group that got left out. It sucks, but it is what it is.
Bring Ryan Kerrigan out of retirement
Bears are probably going to bring in someone, but it’s not going to change the fact that DE will be the weakest part of the team. Bears brought in Reiff last year right before camp and I’m guessing whoever they bring in this year will have a similar impact.
IN OTHER NEWS!! WATER IS WET!
That has been said several times now they are looking at adding depth or a vet to team.
Best case – trade for Hunter
Mid case – Yannick or Houston
Worst Case – Nada
Justin Houston or Hunter should be Bears
If we are getting interior pressure having an edge won’t matter, interior pressure is the worst for QBs.
Could? Potentially? One? Don’t love this lol
Yeah I just don’t really understand the process I guess. Doesn’t really make sense that we are sitting in the most cap space in the league, have already more or less signed our rookie deals, have a clear desire to win ball games this year/develop our young guys, have a clear need with plenty of options available that will sign for a 1-year bridge deal… I just don’t get it. The only thing that I can gather is that the organization really believes Trevis Gipson and Justin Jones are ready to take a massive leap next year so between those 2, Dexter, Pickens, Walker, and Billings we won’t have a single rep to spare on the d line. But that seems impossible after what we saw last season lol

Yannick Ngakoue is, still, right there, Bears.
