Mike Bacsik gets real about the overturned call

Mike calls it the worst overturned call in MLB history, and says that if that’s blocking the plate then every runner heading home from 3rd is safe always.

  1. I still haven’t heard or seen even one person give a devil’s advocate response on why this might be the correct interpretation of the rule. That’s rare. Usually someone can do some mental gymnastics to try and explain why a bad call is made. It appears the fuckwad in NY who overturned this is the only person who thinks Jonah did anything wrong.

  2. I met Mike once, he was coaching a baseball team and his son was pitching, I was the umpire and he was awesome. Super nice guy, had a great eye for the game, and we talked about baseball and some of my calls because he just knew the rules and had a great instinct for out or safe. I agree with him completely, and I definitely trust his assertion

  3. It’s become a chore to watch Rangers games lately. Saw at least a half dozen terrible strike calls just in last night’s game, never mind the Jonah play. Losing I can handle, but when the umps are literally taking the game away, it’s just bullshit.

  4. It can only be because Heim’s foot was on the plate. There is no other reason why they would overturn this in my mind.

Some umpires need to be fired….
