  1. I really don't like this new catcher rule of blocking the plate. If that catcher is in the way, by all means you should be allowed to bulldoze his @$$ outta the way.

  4. While the call was obviously wrong per the RULE, it doesn't change the fact that Our Hitters are dog 💩 with runners in scoring position. How do we not score ONCE when we got our lead off hitter in base 7x, that's how we lost the game.

  5. Alright, I know the play people are gonna talk about. The overturned play at the plate. This one is not an easy call either way, but if you slow it down and watch it, what seems to happen is Gary is already in the base path well before the ball arrives. It looks like Sabol sees this and changes his path and kinda slows down to go to the outside around Gary. It's that path change before the ball arrives that may have led to the call being overturned.
Whatever it is, I don't like the rule but that's how it is now.

  6. What honestly was that call blocking the plate?? I mean, what are you supposed to do as a catcher, he was clearly out otherwise. I think it should only count if the runner had a good chance of being safe otherwise…and this from someone who would prefer the Giants to win, but just baffled at this rule.

  7. Padres are a dumpster fire losing games:

    Meanwhile in Tatis Jr land:
*Gunsling, dance, selfie, cartwheels, stop at 3rd and shoot the J *

  8. Was long ball or bust earlier in the season. Giants way better at situational hitting now: 4 for 8 with RISP tonight.
Small ball is way more sustainable.

  9. Damn, it's a shame that Darvish gave up 4 runs, despite some defensive lapses. It's even more frustrating because the other day some racist Padres fans were blasting him. The team was also swept, further sinking their hopes for the postseason.🥶🥶🥶

  10. Congrats on ten in a row, but let's be real, that home plate overturned call may not be the #1 reason the game went the way it did, nor would it be as simple as "oh if the call wasn't reversed, Padres automatic W" but there was no way the plate was blocked.

"Notwithstanding the above, it shall not be considered a violation of this Rule 7.13 if the catcher blocks the pathway of the runner in order to field a throw, and the Umpire determines that the catcher could not have fielded the ball without blocking the pathway of the runner and that contact with the runner was unavoidable."

  11. Im a Pirates fan so not biased for the Padres in any way. That "blocking the plate" call was complete and utter G@RBAGE. One of the worst calls ive seen all year. Absolutely disgusting.

  12. to me the timing of the throw should be the most important aspect of the play ……… catcher should be allowed to move to where the throw is headed … didn't seem like he plopped his whole weight down in front of the plate with an intention to block it .
