  1. If you’re starting a rebuild picking in the middle of the lottery, you might as well take the raw athletic freak with arguably the highest ceiling in the draft class.

    > Sources: Indiana is selecting Jarace Walker at No. 8 via Wizards in this 7-for-8 flip. Washington also sends two second-round picks to Pacers to move up for Coulibaly.

    > Wizards will send one of the six (!) future second-round picks they’re getting from Phoenix and one of their own future seconds to the Pacers to move up to take Coulibaly, per league source.

VERY good trade. Perfect use of second round picks.

  3. I LOVE IT

IS THIS WIZARDS BED WORTHY TONIGHT?

The Wizards take wing Bilal Coulibaly with the 7th pick (traded up with Pacers):

*vaulted up draft boards late after thriving in playoffs as Victor Wembanyama’s teammate
*super athletic: 6-foot-6 with 7-foot-3 wingspan
    *excellent on/off ball defender
    *raw offensive skillset

  4. This seems good to me, but does anyone know what second rounders we gave Indiana?

  5. This is such a good move. Guy with astronomical upside is a great swing at number seven. We have plenty of minutes for him to play too.

  6. I like this pick, two seconds seems too high to move up one spot, but they’re just seconds and we got six of them from Phoenix.

  7. Can you all please chill with the freakouts whenever something happens? Shit is obnoxious

  8. Consider this. Have any of us proved ourselves worthy of a front office job in the NBA? Even the best GM’s who work on this all year get picks wrong. Nobody can judge any move made tonight until these guys start playing. All we can do is trust the new GM and hope and pray

  9. I just wonder how tall he’s going to get. 5’10” to 6’8” since 2020, with a 7’2” wingspan…is he done growing?

  10. Just be glad Justin Kutcher isn’t still around to make maybe offensive French puns this year

  11. 2028 seconds, not mad at that, Indiana probably was offered picks to jump the wizards.

  12. I was surprised when I saw Coulibaly picked at 7 then I saw that he’s going to us. Maybe we did it because Black was already off the board but I don’t understand the trade up. Pacers are not picking him.

  13. I was watching this dudes highlights earlier today and he’s got such a crafty/slippery game. Whitmore was probably the safer pick but I think Coulibaly is gonna be a ton of fun to watch.

  14. Wasn’t my choice (Whitmore was) but considering we started our rebuild like, 3 days ago, I’m cool with this swing-for-the-fences pick

  15. Everyone needs to realize that this rebuild is going to be a longer than you expect. We don’t have great future assets even after today’s trades. Our real keeper players start next year when we pick top 3. This French kid is a project with high upside. If it works out than it jump starts this rebuild

  16. This actually makes sense. high upside player, and Indiana had another trade if Wizards hadnt made this (they were worried about missing Walker).

The pick that gives me ??? are the Magic picks. Feels like they picked Black only for position, not talent.

  17. Love it. We committed to tank for the next 5 years. Take the guy with the highest upside. We need to hit an all nba guy to contend and attract other talent.

  18. wait i just watched his highlights he’s a freak athlete, actually shades of giannis

  19. We’ve never developed international talent well, I don’t see this being worth it. Hope the new guard knows what they’re doing.
