  1. The Twins did exactly what they wanted to do and hit multiple home runs yet still lost the game because they struck out 13 times. How can anyone defend this approach anymore?

  2. In this game, the Twins had the same number of hits and 7 more total bases. Tigers had 0 extra base hits.

I’m not gonna sit here and argue they played amazing, but the above stats are incredibly annoying in a loss.

They win this game if not for back to back bloop singles in the 2nd inning

  3. Gray, Ryan, and López’s 3 starts against the Tigers in the past week and a half: 17 innings pitched and 11 earned runs. Not exactly ideal from the top of the rotation versus the worst offense in baseball…

  4. It is truly a test of your willpower to root for a team that is going to shatter the strikeout record.

  5. I think if I heard Comerica Park pronounced as “Coe-mer-i-ca Park” one more time, I would’ve had to be out in a mental institution. What a garbage announcer.

  6. With the way AJ and Benetti were pumping the tigers I think they just won the AL Central.

  7. 4th loss to a bad Tigers team in 10 days. Buxton hurt. DeLeon probably gone for good. At least the record strikeout pace continued with gusto.

  8. This is a good, honest .500 baseball team. We play .500 ball goddammit. Salt of the earth, punch the clock, even win/loss ratio baseball. We lose a couple, guess what? We’ll win a couple, too. But don’t get too excited or let it go to your head. No long winning streaks here, no sir. That’s hubris, which this blue collar, hard working everyman team doesn’t have. A few wins in a row, these guys, true to form, will balance it out with a couple a losses. Yes sir, that’s the Minnesota Twins. A good, honest .500 baseball team

  9. Same old same old, broken record, definition of insanity, etc. etc.

Why does this team do this to us?

  10. Starting to wonder why I even tune in anymore. This team will score 4 runs, somehow win, and then they put together the most depressing game ever like this one, where one Royce Lewis single likely wins us the game. Especially considering the Tigers won off two bloop singles themselves. Not to mention the 13 K’s, continuing our quest towards the record.

  11. What ever happened to getting players on base? So sick of the mentality of trying to always hit a homerun and not just getting good contact hits to get runners into position.
Also, so infuriating watching the Twins let pitches go right down the middle without swinging only to swing for the fences on pitches that go way outside the box.

  12. The Twins inability to knock around random AAA pitchers with bad ERAs is truly incredible.

  13. If Twins fans celebrated a win like Tigers fans did, there would a certain crappy podcast crying about “celebrating mediocrity”

Wish people weren’t so cynical in this town and could just enjoy things sometimes.

  14. Do the Twins have any articulated approach to hit better than this?

Or is it just every two weeks hearing “we’re working on our two-strike approach” with no evidence that’s happening.

  15. The Twins are who we thought they are.

They aren’t terrible but they aren’t good either.

Pitching is well above average and the lineup is well below average.

People gonna have to wait until 2024 to see something special from this team. Maybe Cleveland will suck worse than we do but meh.
