  1. Seems really low, no?

[edit] solid evidence below. The eastern conference bias is real

  2. People didn’t like when I said it last time; Barring some incredible misfortune to Fox *and* Makar *and* Heiskanen *and* Dahlin, Hughes will never overcome the bias on his stature to win the Norris.

Its a shitty old boys club and he’s never going to win it.

  3. Hughes is gonna say fuck it and just get 110 points next year and stop playing well defensively

  4. Oh well, first canucks top 10 Norris finish since Hamhuis in 2012. At least he’s building some reputation as a top dman now.

  5. Naw, Petey and Quinn could lead in every way stat wise and they would still get shafted. Eastern bias is real

  6. I don’t think it’s impossible for him to win the Norris. He hasn’t even realized his true powers yet. But it was a silly, local-market conversation that he could win it after a year where the team set an NHL record for giving up multi-goal leads.

I know his stats are far better than the incredibly weak defencemen on the team, but still. The NHL has been around for a hell of a long time and you don’t win a Norris on a team that sets NHL records for all-time defensive incompetence.
