[Schlegel] The Bulls Need to Rebuild, Not Trade for Fred VanVleet!

Unfortunately, the Bulls never actually rebuild. They just scrape together 500 win teams to keep fans in the seats so Jerry can keep cashing his checks. Rebuilding is for owners that are serious about winning.
Fred has already started declining and will fall off a cliff in his 30s. Anyone who pays big money to him on a long term deal is going to regret it.
Tbh FVV is the ONLY move I’d be cool with running the main core back with, assuming we don’t give up PWill for him. Preferably just a regular FA signing. A lineup of FVV, Lavine, Demar, PWill, and Vuc can be pretty dangerous, especially if we play like the end of the season. I do think that’s not simply a play-in team but can be a top 5 team in the east and make some noise
I’m *ok* with the idea of re-tooling around the Zach & Vuc 2 man game in trying to create a poor man’s version of the Jamal Murry & Nikola Jokic 2 man game as the focal point of the offense.
But that means trading Demar and finding more shooters to surround Zach & Vuc with, not running back this same core for a 3rd year and hoping for different results.
VanVleet is basically Zach Lavine-Lite anyway, as a shoot first guard, when we really need more of a floor general to run the point.
