  1. These guys we sign on one year deals to try and flip at the deadline literally NEVER work for us.

  2. Need a new training staff, no doubt about it. Insane amount of pitcher injuries since last year.

  3. Gutted to hear this for Boyd. Hopefully he recovers well and gets another chance in the big leagues.

  4. I say we draft healthy pitchers, immediately give them TJ surgery, and avoid the inevitable.

  5. Knew it right when it happened, just immediately assumed the worst because that’s how it’s been the last two years.

  6. Again it feels like a joke that he finally has 2 solid starts back to back then his arm blows out. There is some diety who just fucks with Detroit sports. Joey Wentz is gonna end up leading this team in IP

  7. Man. Just horrible. Poor bastard. I feel bad for him.

Regarding the business of baseball, this signing has gone predictably bad. I’ll never understand it.

  8. To me the most bizarre thing is that Jose De Leon of the Twins did almost the exact same thing two games earlier against us. It was like the baseball gods decided to punish us for his injury.

  9. As soon as I saw “elbow discomfort” last night I knew this was the outcome. Such a shame.

  10. Yeah I kind of saw that coming….elbow injury leaves start after less than an inning was not a good sign. Another blow to the pitching staff but at least reinforcements have begun to arrive.

  11. February 4, 2025: “Detroit Tigers sign LHP Matthew Boyd to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training.”

  12. Is our strength and conditioning coach at pitcher THIS bad, damn near ALL of them are gone for a extended period of time. What the fuck

    🙄

  13. We are getting to the point where players are gonna opt for pre-emptive tommy John. What percentage of pitchers have this operation?

  14. Seems like every yr the Tigers lead the league in TJ surgeries… probably the only thing they do lead in
