  1. Sharangovich has potential to be a decent guy. I guess I though that Toffoli would fetch more. Robert Munnich has brought me back to level because I was a little upset at first.

  2. It is a good move for both teams, and this trade is not likely to be seen as remarkable in 2 seasons for either team.

  3. Note: sharangovich is has scored 24 goals in 2021-22 and didn’t play a full season. Definitely a potential 30 goal scorer for years to come.

  4. People saying we got fleeced are overreacting. It’s not incredible but Sharangovich is a perfectly fine middle six player.

  5. I said it before and I’ll say it again – ‘Young guns 2.0’

Not sure how I feel since I don’t know much about Yegor but seems like he can be a decent player and a lot cheaper

  6. Seems like a wash, but he’s younger than Toffoli so slight upside there.

I admit I haven’t seen much of this player, I just looked at the article and some comments comparing stats that looked relatively similar between him and Toffoli.

That draft pick will be the X factor that decides the trade looking back in a few years imo.

That’s just my average Joe take on it tho, I’m far from GM level big brain analysis

  7. Toffoli had a career year playing with Lindholm and still hit the post million times. Guys not a 1st line player and that’s part of the reason the flames didn’t make the playoffs. I don’t know the player got in return but he’s young, big and has speed. I’m willing to work with that.

  8. Dont think this is a full tear down move. Need a few more moves (or no moves) to know if next season has any playoff hopes. Think Yegor can help the team depending on how other moves play out

  9. A Toff pill to swallow, but I think it’ll pan out just fine. Got younger and bigger, and extra pick!

  10. Toffoli wanted out so this is a W. Tyler is old I bet last year was his best he will ever have.

  11. Love the trade. Toffoli has higher trade now than returning to average form next season and having much less trade value at the TDL.

Ruzicka and Sharangovich will have really good chemistry I think.

  12. Good trade especially if we move Lindholm and Backlund otherwise we don’t have much for Centre depth.

  13. Absolutely terrible

Guy lead the team in goals and we got an unsigned 3rd liner whos 25 and a 3rd round pick

  14. Pick number 80 coming back so we now own all of our own picks in rounds 1 through 3.

Lafreniere hasn’t signed with the Rangers yet and we have a French Canadian star and another young French Canadian player.

Could we see a successful offer sheet for the (first?) time in Calgary history?

/s but like with some intrigue

  15. Loooch’s jersey game may need an upgrade, but his heart and hits remain legendary! 💪

  16. We got younger, bigger, and got a pick for a guy who other teams knew was not going to resign, take the W.

  17. Thoughts? I think there is very little chance that the Flames don’t meet my expectations next year.

  18. Was hoping to get more in return, but Tafoli is getting up in hockey age. So in this case we got a younger player and given he has more opertunity in ice time, this could work out OK.
I would imagine it’s not easy recruiting players to come to a team that’s currently an exit only franchise.

  19. Good move for both teams. NJ needs some experience Calgary needs some young blood.

  20. The return is underwhelming for sure, though I’ve liked Sharangovich since he entered the league. You’d think a player like Toffoli, coming off a career season, would have fetched more than a player than had become a healthy scratch.

Feels a lot like if they’d held him until the TDL he easily could have fetched a 1st. Though it’s still possible they’re able to flip Sharangovich for something more next year.
