We are the Content & Production department for the Cleveland Browns – AMA

Hi everyone!

We are a portion of the group that makes up the Browns’ Content and Production team! We are responsible for creating content for Browns TV shows, Micd Ups, social media hypes, digital content, videos that support the business side of the company, and the list goes on.

We are here to answer as many questions as possible regarding video production in the NFL world, getting into the industry, or whatever else is on your mind! Based on my quick calculations, this group here today has over 42 years combined working in the Sports and Entertainment industry (13, 10, 8, 5, 4, and 2 years). We have quite the range of experiences we can draw from to answer your questions.

Answering your questions today are:

– Ricky Soinski – Supervising Producer

– Drew Davidson – Production Manager / Cinematographer

– Lily Hammel – Producer / Video Editor

– Konner Sanghera – Digital Video Specialist

– Caroline Jordan – Producer

– Justin Fela – Digital Video Specialist

(We will throw initials in the answers so you all know who is chiming in!)

Ask Me/Us Anything!!
We will be hopping in around Noon EST and will be hanging out until 2PM or so.

  1. Im hoping this is the right team but what was the driving factor behind the shift from Building the Browns to Unleashed? Seems to be a shorter, more targeted approach this year compared to prior years.

Thanks so much! You all are incredible!

  2. Are you guys responsible for the players trying to hype up the crowd on the jumbotron content?

If so, what is getting those clips like? Is it all just blitzed one day in the offseason?

  3. What goes into picking who gets mic’d up? Do the players volunteer? How much advanced notice do they have before game day?

  4. Some of my favorite episodes of Building the Browns are those that focus on people who make the Browns a well-oiled machine behind the scenes. I really enjoy learning who these people are and how their work contributes to the franchise as a whole!

How do you feel interviews such as these contribute to the show as a whole? Are there any in particular that you have found particular fun/interesting?

  5. What’s a job for the Browns that I can walk in off the street and do? I would like to be able to say I work for the Cleveland Browns

  6. Are you guys in charge of the 3rd/4th quarter song selection? If so, can we please get a song for the team/fans to rally behind? No offense, but Chicken Fried by Zac Brown Band or Tiny Dancer by Elton John doesn’t quite get the team or fans hyped for the 4th quarter of a game.

The fans could provide great input on this subject, and I think allowing them to come up with some song ideas would result in some great options!

  7. Hey! How did you guys end up getting these jobs with the Browns and how would you recommend applying for one now?

  8. Hey! Lifelong and diehard CLE sports fan here! My entire life I have had a passion for cinematography & videography and have always wondered and dreamed to work for a professional sports team here in Cleveland, and after seeing the consistent (Emmy Award winning) quality from everything you all have had to offer these past few years, I couldn’t be more motivated to get where you are to achieve my long-term visions! With that said, how can I take a chance to potentially join forces and work with the combined 42 years the six of you have to offer? Thanks for hopping on here today and I appreciate you taking the time to answer some questions!

  9. Are any players cat people instead of dog people?

Thanks for doing the AMA and keep up the great work! Can’t wait to watch the team win the Super Bowl this year.

  10. Do you have “all access” to areas in berea? What is the process of what IS allowed to go out and what isnt? Does the staff have a liaison that approves all of the media that goes out first?

  11. I have really enjoyed the off season BPA interviews with some players. The focus on other topics beyond football allows for a more complete view. Would you want to expand this beyond new faces and integrate some old ones?
