  1. So…they really aren’t making any changes to the major league roster? Nothing? No Wallner? No one from a really good St. Paul roster can help this team?

  2. I kept seeing people point out that that we have 1 hitter above 1 WAR, so I wanted to interrogate that some more. Well, that’s because they’re using fWAR. We in fact have 2 hitters above 1 bWAR (Jeffers and Castro). Both Jeffers and Castro have positive dWARs. We also have 9 players with a negative dWAR (from b-ref), 3 are not on the active roster (Gordon, Garlick, and Larnach).

    This isn’t how WAR works but if you flip Julien, Kirilloff, Buxton, Gallo, and Solano’s negative dWAR (all -0.X values) to positive values then you’d have 5 more players with a 1 or higher bWAR…

    Let me be loud and clear. Our team offense is still incredibly disappointed. But defining our team offense by the number of players with a 1 WAR isn’t also recognizing the defensive metric inside WAR.

    TL;DR: Offense Bad, individual Defense also Bad.

  4. Y’know what, something new tonight. Twins will have a million fly balls to left that all fall short of the Great Wall of Camden but would be out in most other ballparks.

    Pain.
